Terms of Service

These terms apply when you engage Susannah Mitchell ("I", "me") for private GCSE English tuition. They are deliberately short and practical. Ask me about anything that isn't clear.

Lessons

Lessons are booked session-by-session. There is no minimum commitment and no contract. Lessons can be held at the student's home, at a mutually agreed location, or online via video call.

Fees and payment

My current hourly rate is agreed at the start of tuition. Fees are payable by bank transfer within seven days of invoice. I'll send a simple invoice at the end of each month.

Cancellations

Lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no charge. Cancellations inside 24 hours may be charged in full, except in cases of illness or genuine emergency, which I always try to accommodate.

Safeguarding

I am a qualified, DBS-checked teacher. For face-to-face lessons with a minor I require a responsible adult to be present in the home. For online lessons I ask that sessions are conducted from a shared family space.

Expectations

I commit to preparing every session, to being honest about progress, and to treating every student with respect. In return I ask that students arrive ready to work and that families let me know as early as possible about any changes to schedule or circumstances.
